Description

The configuration file /etc/ssh/sshd_config contains obsolete options which
are no longer supported by the current version of sshd, which is
OpenSSH_7.8p1, OpenSSL 1.0.2q 20 Nov 2018

This can be seen by running the following command:

# /usr/lib/ssh/sshd
/etc/ssh/sshd_config line 85: Deprecated option ServerKeyBits
/etc/ssh/sshd_config line 90: Deprecated option KeyRegenerationInterval
/etc/ssh/sshd_config line 103: Deprecated option MaxAuthTriesLog
/etc/ssh/sshd_config line 132: Deprecated option RhostsAuthentication
/etc/ssh/sshd_config line 138: Deprecated option RhostsRSAAuthentication
/etc/ssh/sshd_config line 145: Deprecated option RSAAuthentication

These definitions should be removed from /etc/ssh/sshd_config.

  • Project changed from illumos gate to OpenIndiana Distribution

This is specific to OpenIndiana - openssh is supplied by the distros, not illumos, and it appears that OpenIndiana ships an old config file
