Description

Observed on OpenIndiana 2019.05

The "chmod A-" command, which is used to removed ACLs (see "man chmod") does
not work. It stops with the following message:

ERROR: Operation not supported

This command used to work on Oracle Solaris 10.

Example:

cd /tmp
touch abc
getfacl abc
  # this works
chmod A- abc
  ERROR: Operation not supported

On what filesystem are the files?

Is this a ZFS/NFS ACL v. old POSIX draft issue?

Good point.

The files are on /tmp, which is mounted as swap. This is the default installation
made by OpenIndiana installer, no custom changes have been made.

On a ZFS file system, "chmod A-" works normally. So the problem occurs for a
swap file system.
