Description

Work by Gordon Ross. This is a pre-requisite for the hyper-v vmbus driver integration.

This has been in OmniOS for a while to support running under hyper-v on a single CPU with the enlightened (PV) drivers.
It has been tested on standalone hardware, under kvm, bhyve, vmware and hyper-v (both on windows and in Microsoft Azure).
