man(1)
claims that more -s
is used when PAGER
env var is not set:
PAGER A program to use for interactively delivering output to the screen. If not set, ‘more -s’ is used. See more(1).
But in reality
less -ins
is used:$ echo $PAGER $ man -d man ... -- Using pager: less -ins ...
