Description

Please consider patching openjdk8 for font antiliasing/smoothing to improve font rendering quality in Swing based application. It's currently very bad to work with Swing applications on OI. Many linux distros already patched their java for this purpose. It's ironically for a desktop called Java Desktop to have Java based application looks that bad.

The patch seemed to be upstreamed and some Linux distros already backported it to openjdk8.

OpenJDK 11 from Joyent's pkgsrc repo has the fonts fixed. You could try it. Just need to install the package sunpro from pkg.
