boot hangs every now and then on Thinkpad W520/T530
I'm using an older Thinkpad W520 as a test machine running OpenIndiana. I noticed that about every other boot hangs shortly after the NVIDIA kernel module printed it's message. Sometimes I can reboot it for a few times with no hangs, and on other days it just seems to hang 3-4 times in a row. The system isn't completely dead, it's just not making any progress while spinning in one CPU, not reacting to any key presses or anything. Only pushing the power button for two seconds wakes it up, allowing it to progress and shut down.
It happens in DEBUG and non-DEBUG, and I don't even remember when that started. As that system has had certain issues in the past I originally suspected a hardware issue, but I no longer believe that. My main laptop, a Thinkpad T530, shows similar behaviour, but since I reboot that only once in a full moon or two I rarely get to see it on that machine.
