Description

When Firefox 91.10.0esr (64-bit) included with the latest updated OpenIndiana is closed, it crashes every time, dumping core.

Steps to reproduce:
  • A fresh, new profile is created
  • Firefox is started
  • When all pages have stopped loading, Firefox is closed by [ X ] button or 'Exit' menu item
  • Firefox hangs, then dumps a core named 'core' in the home directory
  • Firefox crashes and dumps core every time it is launched again then closed, up to two more times, then stops dumping core
This issue is on 'bare metal' Intel x86-64 and VirtualBox instance running on Intel Xeon x86-64 host. Hipster 2021.10 updated to latest (as of today, 2022-07-24).
  • 16 GB RAM for 'bare metal'
  • 4 GB RAM for vbox instance
$ uname -a
SunOS oi 5.11 illumos-b9a2a14b8f i86pc i386 i86pc

I have tried using gdb to further troubleshoot, but gdb itself has an error while debugging Firefox and I cannot go further.

Thanks!
