Bug #14854
closedLatest changes web-page has not been updated since 2020
100%
Description
After performing pkg update
the following is printed out:
NOTE: Please review release notes posted at: https://docs.openindiana.org/release-notes/latest-changes/
Visiting that page, the last item added was:
2020-10-30 qt 5 was updated to 5.12.9
and it's currently 2022-07-25.
Not trying to be a pest, but if that page is no longer updated, should it be removed from after pkg update
operations?
Thanks!

You are right, we should improve here. Alas the number of volunteers willing to help is very small.
You are welcome to help up to improve the quality of the packages and the documentation.

Best solution would be to automate this using a script that runs on Jenkins and just pulls the title of new PRs and dumpos these into the release notes.
However we don't want to include all PRs in the release notes. To sort out PRs that should be included in release notes from PRs that should not be included, I suggest each PR that wants to be included in the release notes should have some keyword in the PR title

The release notes are now on the main website, e.g. https://www.openindiana.org/announcements/openindiana-hipster-2023-04-announcement/.
I've created a PR for pkg to update the URL: https://github.com/OpenIndiana/pkg5/pull/121
For the old page, I think it would be best to link to the relevant page of the main website instead of duplicating information.

This is resolved but I do not have an option to set the status to this!
