Although the kernel vmm of bhyve resets quite a bit of vCPU state when an instance is reinitialized (via VM_REINIT), portions of the MSR state is missed, resulting in those MSRs carrying over non-zero (or non-initialization-default) state after a VM_REINIT call. A comment regarding this shortcoming was left behind as part of #13275. Someone should circle back to actually address the problem at some point.
