Description

There exists a class of sensors that we consider synthetic. That is, they do not measure a physical property directly themselves, but are instead derived (potentially) from set of physical measurements and then are used as input to something like a control loop. This comes up in the case of #16573. This extends the ksensor interface to be able to indicate:

  • A sensor is synthetic
  • That a sensor may be derived from some other physical measurement
  • That there are no units associated with the measurement

This also takes care of the other topo glue to make this something that we can show.
