Description

We have code whose sole reason for being appears to be engaging in congress with a then-StorageTek (now Oracle) tape drive encryption system. This code has several exciting properties:

  • It contains a lot of C++ and SOAP
  • Some of the C++ is giving us grief with gcc4 and its heightened sense of taste
  • It would be easy to resurrect and maintain externally to our gate should a powerful desire ever overcome somebody

I propose that we remove it in the usual way -- pull out the code, leave an obsoleting packaging manifest in its place.
