net_consoles: an UDP sink for /dev/console messages
Linux has a nice feature to aid with systems debugging (and, to an extent, monitoring) by providing a network console virtual device. It is configured at kernel options at boot-time, and provides the target's (or router's) MAC address, the target's IP address and port, where messages written into /dev/console are forwarded as UDP messages. They can be received and recorded with syslog or some other UDP sink.
This RFE proposes to implement a similar mechanism for illumos boot environments (global zones,; optionally maybe local zones as well).
