Bug #3504
closedRoot password is expired
0%
Description
I installed OpenIndiana 151a7 on a laptop. During the install i of course set the root password when asked. After booting up I tried accessing the network settings and the package management with no luck. Nothing happened. It was not until I opened a terminal to check for cli-based package handling that I realized why. When trying to su I got the message that the root password had expired and that I had to set a new one. After this action everything worked nicely. The fact that no error were shown when trying to use the expired root password in GUIs might be considered a bug. A newbie trying out OpenIndiana for the first time could get the idea that the OS is not working properly.
