Description

The situation in libc after the removal of synonyms makes it fairly complicated to determine what the now correct thing to be doing is, without knowing the history (or while knowing it but being lazy). A README in libc should state what should be done, and why it should be done -- including duplicating the warning about 'protected' in libc/port/mapfile-vers to make it clearer, as well.
