It's not just pyzfs but pylibbe and pysolaris (at least for unused and unmaintained). I've got a changes already underway to do the lot of these, which I'm happy to upstream shortly:

Nice. Was there a bug filed for this already?

FYI there are still some python related rules in Makefile.master. I'm not sure if you can remove them because I'm not sure if there is anything in the tools dir that depend on them, but it might be something worth looking at if you haven't already.

What's the status of this? I'm eager to throw that python stuff out!

I think OmniOS relies on this stuff still. Not sure about anyone else. It makes sense to collaborate with DanMcD on it though.

I thought pkg(5) used pyzfs, but now I'm not so sure.

I would be surprised. The pyzfs bindings don't really let you do all that much.

I remove the pyzfs bindings on an Omni box and IPS seems to still work. I guess it is safe to remove them.

I think we should stick with the original issue scope and only tear out pyzfs for the time being.
