illumos gate

Most other platforms support a number of different codes in their /etc/issue file to print of things like hostname and architecture, but we don't support that on illumos. We don't even handle newlines properly.

Attached is a patch I hacked up which implements the bare essentials, or enough for the gentoo supplied /etc/issues file to look halfway decent anyway.
