Description

Hi,

this problem persist long time (since first OpenSolaris installation).
Hardware: Dell Vostro 400 (currently running latest /hipster OI) from Sep 25 2013.

From "prtconf -d" output (attached):

        pci1028,23d (pciex8086,10c0) [Intel Corporation 82562V-2 10/100 Network Connection], instance #0

and (result of "dladm show-linkprop e1000g0" attached)
$ dladm show-phys
LINK MEDIA STATE SPEED DUPLEX DEVICE
e1000g0 Ethernet up 100 full e1000g0
vboxnet0 Ethernet up 1000 full vboxnet0

So we see that speed is 100MB full. I have tried to tweak "/kernel/drv/e1000g.conf" (attached), but no success.

Most funniest thing is that my VB guest sees interface properly and brings 1GB network (CentOS 6 x86_64):

e1000 0000:00:03.0: eth0: (PCI:33MHz:32-bit) 08:00:27:27:27:27
e1000 0000:00:03.0: eth0: Intel(R) PRO/1000 Network Connection
...
e1000: eth0 NIC Link is Up 1000 Mbps Full Duplex, Flow Control: RX
e1000: eth0 changing MTU from 1500 to 1496
e1000: eth0 NIC Link is Up 1000 Mbps Full Duplex, Flow Control: RX

What i have to do to get 1GB network on OI working?
I have found this OLD ticket, but i am not sure if it is related: https://www.illumos.org/issues/1669

Thanks and best regards.

prtconf output (as well as Dell's specs) say that you have "10/100 Network Connection", so what exactly is wrong here? Driver name?

hi,

yes. Driver name. It makes impression that i have GB network, which is not true...

OR, maybe e1000g driver has bug, and i cannot use GB network?

Not sure. But to me, either case has to be fixed.

Regards.
