Is this bug still actual? I think recent Andrzej's commit (https://github.com/OpenIndiana/oi-userland/commit/d74db05a60113e5fd032e56ecb76d5783bb6ea49) and upstram illumos fixes (https://github.com/illumos/illumos-gate/commit/2af88515229ddbf3a029426040c385a053f2bfb3) should have resolved it.

Actual zoneinfo package version is pkg://openindiana.org/system/data/zoneinfo@2013.9-0.151.1.8.1:20140204T114429Z and it is installable.

The Boot Environment oi151_181hipster_20140129 failed to be updated. A snapshot was taken before the failed attempt and is mounted here /tmp/tmp2ZXJkB. 
Use 'beadm unmount oi151_181hipster_20140129-1' and then 'beadm activate oi151_181hipster_20140129-1' if you wish to boot to this BE.

Will give it a try (will come back later, after reboot).

Hi,

I have solved problem by returning to BE oi151_181hipster_20140127 (BEFORE this and similar changes of that day: http://hipster.openindiana.org:8080/job/illumos-gate/2384/changes), ran pkg update (with all publishers active) w/o any error.

Now, after reboot, I have zoneinfo finally updated:

$ pkg info zoneinfo
          Name: system/data/zoneinfo
       Summary: Timezone Information
   Description: timezone information
      Category: System/Core
         State: Installed
     Publisher: openindiana.org
       Version: 2013.9
        Branch: 0.151.1.8.1

Not sure how people which doesn't have saved so old BE can do update.

It looks like I had bad luck and picked up OI snapshot with error (which was fixed in meantime).
