At the moment the ipmi driver only detects the BMC device through the SMBIOS. I have a BMC device that SMBIOS doesn't see. I tried with Linux and I found out that the Linux ipmi driver manages to discover the device through ACPI.

Is there a chance that the ACPI discovery functionality will be ported from FreeBSD?
