Hi,
it is fairly easy to add scons (http://www.scons.org/ , http://sourceforge.net/projects/scons/files/scons/2.3.1/):
$ python2.{6,7} setup.py install --prefix=/opt/sfw
NOTE, 2.3.1 is last one working with python < 3
