Description

I have encountered a number of scripts of both Debian and Gentoo that use GNU rm's -v option. This causing rm to print out the name of files and directories that are removed. While these scripts can be modified not to rely on this GNU extension I think it's better for us to just take the path of least resistance implement it. It is after all reassuring to get a list from rm of what has actually been removed, especially when -r is used too.
