Description

On a KVM host running kernel 3.10.0-123.13.2.el7.x86_64 (and many others) an Illumos based guest will not boot. The immediate evidence is the following text:

panic[cpu0]/thread=fffffffffbc2f9a0: BAD TRAP: type=d (#gp General protection) rp=ffffffffbtrap: Unknown trap type 8 in user mode

and an immediate reboot. Booting with -kd and entering tudebug/W1 followed by :c gets me to the screenshot featured in this link: http://imgur.com/Oz4EfTu

Additonal information.

I have tried many illumos distributions, including Hipster, vanilla OI, opensolaris, SmartOS, OmniOS, and Dilos. The host system is CentOS 7 running 3.1.x and Ovirt. The host CPU is an AMD E1-2100 APU with Radeon(TM) HD Graphics. I can boot the guest using the hook found here: https://github.com/ovido/ovirt-stuff/blob/master/hooks/99_remove_cpu_model
