Bug #5672
closedin Hipster Nwam manager dumps core, restarting gdm on login
0%
Description
I have an account, that logs in just fine in August 2014 Hipster,
but on both 20141010 and 2015 (I use hipster-2015 with freezed X-incorporation and xorg-video-intel before updating from 20141010),
when logging in with one user (test2),
nwam manager gives core dump, X is failing on logging in, then gdm is restarting login screen.
I .tar.7z'ed whole user dir (it includes also core file if that is it)
core file is inside user's dir and also in /var/cores, don't know if they differ.
Whwere do I post files larger then 4MB, anyway?

Here it is core of nwam manager.

But I transferred user dir data to newly made user and I could reproduce bug again on hipster 2015 (with frozen older X and intel driver.
Something in that account profile kills gdm on Login.
But I could not get core now. (where else to look for clues?

I was able to log in and use my account , after disabling Thumbnail generation
(that is reportedly also buggy on Solaris test)
I am not aware what change inside hipster-2015 , before 201503, made it go away,
Yet it is still needed to disable Thumbnails (in nautilus, Edit>Preferences>Preview>Show thumbnails:Never).
Problem did not exist up to August 2014 Hipster (pre 20141010)

Can we close this or is it still present ?

alp fixed thumbnail generation upon reporting, as I remember before the end of hipster-2015,
also configuration described is when using hipster 20141010 with updates, e.g. "old" hipster before hipster-2015,
and hipster-2015 in the begining of 2015 with sane X server as in 20141010 for Xorg, driver intel graphics support.
So it's not a problem anymore and is resolved as fixed.
