Description

This issue was separated out of #5876
It's quite likely that we can simply remove the
struct __old_fpu from intel/sys/reset.h.
That struct It's apparently used just one place:
$SRC/uts/intel/ia32/os/fpu.c, in an assertion that:
sizeof (struct _fpu) == sizeof (struct __old_fpu)

Checking whether that's OK requires some
work to find out what it might break.

There seems to be issues with valgrind (3.11.0) here on i386.

What do you intend to do specifically?

It seems perhaps clisp also fiddles around this area (in src/lisp/solaris-os.c)

Also, has Oracle Solaris already done something that can be mirrored in Illumos?
