The grub splash screen uses the old "pre-phoenix" logo. It needs some updating. Likewise the kernel boot screen ("happy face") is in desperate need of an update.

Note that for various reasons, these images need to be built with a restricted number of colors. I can provide sample templates to someone artistically inclined and with adequate tools to manipulate the files and produce the pixmap images we need.
