Description

If any CPU has an empty buffer, ::dtrace will yield no output due to the temporal rewrite.

The problem here is that post the integration of the implicit sorting, there are additional checks looking for timestamps when processing. If we are manually snapping a buffer (via mdb using post-mortem dtrace), it doesn't have a timestamp, therefore we put one that'll be valid and not get omitted as being too early.
