History

Updated by Ken Mays over 2 years ago

Driver for ATI/AMD Radeon based video chips, everything from Radeon 7000 (R100) to Radeon HD 7000 (Southern Islands) series. For some most recent graphics cards (R9 285, R9 380/380X, R9 M395X, R9 Nano/Fury/FuryX, RX 460/470/480...) and APUs (Carrizo, Stoney), the open-source AMDGPU video driver is enabled by default.

Don't require kernel KMS support (KMS disabled)

Tested: RS400/RS480
Note: PUMA/MULLINS/VEGA/CARRIZO support in review

How well does it work without drm support?

Very similar to its same functionality on Solaris 11.3.
We can close this ticket.

Note: Proposed Radeon kernel DRM wrapper for illumos
Tested: AMD RV710 [Radeon HD 4000 series], Mesa 13.0.6, LLVM 4.0.1, OI-hipster 2017.04 - glxgears @ 6646 FPS
2D (UXA)/3D Visual Effects works - Xserver 1.18.4, 1280x1024 resolution
