Updated by If possible I'd like to close this issue or rename it.
The real task is to provide different series of nvidia drivers as good and expensive Quadro hardware is not supported by recent series.
I suggest that you reformulate the issue as providing a framework to provide multiple nvidia series as variants.

But you idea of reviewing supported hardware is good so we can elaborate here.
In particular hardware may be supported by more than one series, so we should be able to alter the pci.id list to use the most recent.
