Description

Logitech Internet Navigator USB keyboard (iTouch model Y-BF37) has wheel
button I habitually use for scrollback in terminal or Firefox. Keyboard
wheel causes OpenIndiana (2017.10 and previous) MATE (1.18.0) or
Enlightenment (21.9) and Logitech wireless mouse (USB port transceiver) to
remain stuck in SELECTION mode (mouse left button) preventing selecting any
button or window. The other wireless mouse buttons continue to work
correctly.

Workaround solution: go to terminal commandline via right button mouse menu,
startx then exit it. X will detect multiple names for keycode(s) and luckily
correct to single name that works again (see below).

Other related issues:
Logitech keyboard & mouse always works for Debian (Jessie/Sid) MATE (1.16.2).
Substitute Sony USB keyboard (model KU-9855) works for OI 2017.10 GUI Live
USB but not on the installed OI 2017.10 starting at the graphical login
prompt. Also, OI lacks a Power OFF button or menu during the graphical
login prompt to shutdown (Debian has menu and ALT-F4 hotkey).

Also, OI lacks a Power OFF button or menu during the graphical
login prompt to shutdown (Debian has menu and ALT-F4 hotkey).

No we just decided to ship a default configuration that does not include it.
You can add it: see "indicators =" in /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf, the widget is "~power"
