Description

Debug build error from gcc 6:

    ../common/ppproto.c:32:19: error: 'id' defined but not used [-Werror=unused-const-variable=]
     static const char id[] = "\n@(#)$Id: proto (AT&T Research) 2008-05-11 $\0\n";
                       ^~
    cc1: all warnings being treated as errors
