issue found by gcc 7 build:

    acu.c: In function 'acutype':
    acu.c:157:34: error: comparison between pointer and zero character constant [-Werror=pointer-compare]
       for (p = acutable; p->acu_name != '\0'; p++)
                                      ^~
    acu.c:157:22: note: did you mean to dereference the pointer?
       for (p = acutable; p->acu_name != '\0'; p++)
                          ^
    cc1: all warnings being treated as errors
