Juergen Keil reported this bug quite a while ago, here:

But it seems to have gone unfixed, or have a close relative

% pfexec mdb /usr/sbin/amd64/dtrace

mdb: target forked child process 17835 (debugger following parent)
dtrace: failed to execute /bin/atte: cannot find executable file

"/bin/atte"?
